The Winter Malt is part of our new Seasonal Series - a chance for us to flex our creative muscles and bring to you an exclusive whisky that matches the flavours of the season perfectly. This series supports our goal to make whisky as inclusive and accessible as possible, and to that end we're also very excited to be offering these whiskies at a price that is as tasty as the contents of the bottle. Which is also why we are only offering these as full bottles, no pouches - a Whisky Me first!
Side note: We used an AI tool to help design the labels for The Winter Malt, which might be a first for the whisky industry?
For our inaugural release we couldn't decide whether to include peated whisky in the blend as we know it can be challenging for some. So by way of compromise (and immediately tearing up our own release schedule) we decided to release two whiskies, each of them limited to 60 bottles only. To say that we are proud of these whiskies would be an understatement, and they will most definitely be appearing in our own tasting glasses over the Christmas season.
Batch 1
is an un-peated Scotch Blended Malt Whisky, aged for a minimum of 12 years. It features notes of orange, cinnamon, sherry soaked Christmas pudding and oak. It's bottled at 45.8% ABV.
Batch 2 is a peated Scotch Blended Malt Whisky, aged for a minimum of 10 years. It features some of the same whiskies as Batch 1 but (as the label suggests) has some bonfire smoke, dates and salt to complement softer notes of candied orange and star anise. It's bottled at 48.6% ABV.
