A blend of malt and grain whiskeys, matured in ex-bourbon casks, sherry butts, and casks that previously held peated whiskey, Clan Colla 11 won its category at the World Whisky Awards last year. Soft, dark, fruits, chocolate & a wisp of peat smoke - we think this sets a new standard for Irish Whiskey.

Great with
The subtle smoke raises the appeal of this whiskey for me.
A lovely drop!
A lovely Irish whiskey. I don't pick up much from the peated casks mentioned, maybe just a hint of smoke, but that's probably for the best as I don't think the flavour would suit being overly peated.
One point to contradict the notes that were sent out about this one to members - it was mentioned that this whiskey is sourced from Great Northern Distillery, but they can't have been the original distillers because they started distilling in 2015, which means their oldest spirit is currently at most 9 years old not 11. This was therefore most likely distilled at Cooley.
Very nice dram
Not a big blend fan normally but this is a cracker! Sweet, cakey loveliness with a warm slightly burnt finish.
Honey is an overpowering highlight

Really enjoying the variety of the samples delivered. I had a problem over a missing delivery but the problem was sorted very quickly and I was very impressed with yiur response.
About the 8th of the month I start watching the postie making his rounds in eager anticipation of delivery of latest WhiskyMe dram.
Four months in and I'm happy to say it's been a good experience sampling whisky I probably wouldn't have purchased. They've all been interesting and the leaflet with the tasting notes is welcome too.
Now I keep the little orange pouch to the Thursday internet tasting. As an amateur whisky lover I'm intrigued by the fulsome technical descriptions of the distilling process. Each distillery seems to have an individual approach developed over the years. Half of it I don't begin to understand but it's quite pleasant sitting sipping a dram listening to the chat and enjoying their enthusiasm.
So far all the Whisky Me drams gave been excellent and I also bought a bottle of the KinGlassie 12 year old after the tasting as it really hit the bullseye for me.
My subscription was a birthday gift and it's a great present.
The mix of a novel dram like Hogsworth with a more traditional Loch Lomond was inspired. Charming presenting as ever!
Timely, responsive, great value. . . . I highly recommend WhiskyMe to any and all who drink whisky!
