As one of a few distilleries which started as a mill, Dufftown Distillery began whisky making in the boom time of the 1890’s, mainly to fill the bottles of the blending firm Mackenzie & Co. It later became part of Arthur Bell & Sons in 1933 and was a key player within that blender’s portfolio, increasing its copper stills to eight by 1979 (there are currently six). Nowadays Dufftown is best known as one of a trio of distilleries that make up The Singleton range, the other two being Glen Ord and Glendullan.
Smooth and rich, The Singleton range is a delicious collection of single malt whiskies, sitting mostly in the fruity and rich flavour camp. They are aged in American and European oak casks, and making for an easy to enjoy drink.
